Beach-Chic Wedding Photographer Branding Session

Many of my branding session clients work in the creative industry as designers, calligraphers, and florists. Some are even photographers and/or also part of the wedding industry. But the one thing they all have in common – They’re passionate about their work and want to see their brand captured in a beautiful way.

And fine art film is a photography style that delivers exactly what these creative professionals desire.

From the very first email I receive when working with a new branding client, I immediately get to work helping them choose the perfect location for their photo session. And often suggest Airbnb homes, as they provide a clean backdrop and can be beautifully styled to fit the client’s needs.

Such was the case with photographer, Zelda Green.

When Zelda reached out to me, she was looking for someone whose artistic quality and aesthetic aligned with hers. She had a vision that she wanted to bring to life and she knew a collaboration would bring about amazing results. She also loved my timeless and bright style, and wanted this aesthetic represented throughout her brand.

As a professional photographer herself, Zelda understands the value photos provide and how they can strengthen a brand’s presence. And she wanted her branding session to capture her personal and professional life in a way that gives clients a look at the face behind the camera.

Preparing for the Session

We began by creating a Pinterest mood board to give us both an idea of the kind of scenes we wanted to create. The board was a collage of soft and neutral tones and laid-back, beach-chic style.

Here’s a peek.

Zelda’s brand aesthetic is fine art, romantic, and elegant, so I was able to weave those elements into the mood board to create an inspiring atmosphere that expressed a timeless brand.

During the Session

On the day of our session, I started with capturing casual images of Zelda so she could relax into the session and feel comfortable in my presence. I photographed her on the patio with her camera surrounded by white-washed walls, a wooden floor, and natural details like wicker chairs, baskets, and greenery to really capture the beachy feel. All the decor and details were very natural, from the sepia-toned nature-inspired prints on the wall to the vases of dried flowers.

We then moved onto behind-the-scenes images of Zelda photographing styled invitation suites I put together and brought with me.

These photos all came together to create images that express Zelda’s elegant, organic brand style.

As a fun addition to the session, Zelda brought her daughter and husband with her. And I had them sit for me so I could capture a few beautiful mother-daughter and family pictures.
