6 Florists To Consider for Your Wedding

Christian Dior once said that flowers are the most divine creation after women.

I absolutely agree.

Flowers are magic in that they have the ability to boost moods, inspire smiles, and, dare I say… make events *bloom*.

After all, that’s why they’re so popular at weddings! They’re the perfect item to symbolize just how beautiful weddings are.

But all of these beautiful things and symbols wouldn’t be possible without the artists behind the floral creations. The ones who use their artistic eyes and diligent hands to craft custom bouquets and artful arrangements. The ones who pour their heart and soul into creating inspiring designs that live forever in your photographs. The wedding florists.

In this vendor highlight series, I’m happy to introduce you to six incredible Australian floral designers.

Get to know them and learn how they can make your wedding floral dreams flourish.

Two Wild Hands

Originally an interior designer, but always smitten with flowers, Kate started Two Wild Hands using her experience to create romantic arrangements and whimsical bouquets.

Kate uses a mix of traditional flowers, such as roses and hydrangeas. And mixes them with fun pops of colour, such as yellow and orange. Together, they create a bit of structured whimsy and flowy elegance.

It’s no wonder her romantic, wild, and intriguing style falls right in line with the timeless, classic, and elegant style my couples love. I personally love Kate’s work (along with all of the other florists mentioned above!) So much so she will be partnering with me at our upcoming workshop in September. (If you’re a photographer and interested in learning more about film photography, find out more information here!)

Idyll Studio Co

Ha, from Idyll Studio, says the name of her company signifies simplicity, peace, and presence. And this clearly shows in the beautiful and timeless creations they make.

Ha approaches floral design on a personal level and believes in creating artistic arrangements that tell a story. Scroll through her gallery and you’ll see luscious green flower crowns, soft but structured bouquets, and centrepieces that are as pretty as a fine art painting.

Ha and her team are professional, kind, and amazing at helping their clients discover the kinds of flowers they want and need for such a special occasion. So, if you’re not totally sure what kinds of flowers you want…or you have an idea that needs to be explored more in-depth…Idyll Studio is the florist for you.

Oh Flora Studio

Untamed romance and raw beauty are Oh Flora Studio’s inspiration. Founder and director, Tanya, delivers a very bright and vibrant mix of stunning arrangements. Her style is creative and unstructured. And full of texture, trailing vines, odd-shaped stems, and freshly picked seasonal flowers.

Oh Flora Studio is perfect for couples who want professional guidance but still want to remain involved with the design.

And for the couple who want someone to take full control over all of the design elements, the studio provides full-service wedding design, as well.

I’ve worked with Tanya frequently over the years – Ranging from weddings to workshops all over the world (see images from their New Zealand workshop here and California here.)

So, one might say our styles nicely complement each other. Which may bring you some relief knowing that with us both on your vendor team, you’ll get beautifully designed florals and beautiful photos of those designs.
